Gilmore Girls
Boston
Marriage by Jae W.
Paris/Rory - If this pairing makes you raise an eyebrow or two, read this story
and be convinced. I mean, there's a Powerpoint presentation for chrissakes.
How do you argue with that? Funny and clever - an utter *delight* to read.
A
Study of Motherhood in Black and Gray by Anotherjuxtaposition
A study
of Emily in black and white, actually. Read it for the perfect character study
but also because the main plot point is Emily buying ice-cream, but it says
*everything*.
Get
It On the Table by Anna S.
Love Luke! I adore Luke and I love Lorelai, though I'd like to strangle her
a lot of the time, and Anna captures that quality in her, her ability to be
both obsessive and commitment-phobic. And Luke, though a force of nature in
his own right, seems completely unable to do anything but be drawn along in
her wake. Lovely fic.
Out
of the Picture by Nestra
Lorelai gets drunk and gives Digger the finger pointing he deserves. Full of
funny Lorelai-isms with a very Lorelia first person point of view narration.
Luke/Lorelai fans will thank their lucky stars for Nestra.
I Don't Know Why Sometimes I Get Frightened by Shaye
Missing the show? This is the perfect fix. There's Lane being too much like
her mother, Babette being the perfect neighbour and Kirk being - Kirk. Then
there's Luke and Lorelai dating in a way you know only Luke and Lorelai could
manage. And it's funny and cute and just beautiful.
To
a Daydream Believer and a Homecoming Queen by Mosca
Mosca makes something weird so credible you
wonder how they get away with the obverse. She also makes Dean more interesting
than he is on the show and he's way too cute to waste.
Like
a Second Chance by Nestra
Luke is there for Lorelai, and he's
not sleeping, and after all this time, something's got to give. And it
does. He finally takes the chance, and it's not pity and it's everything
he imagined, and more. Beautiful, romantic and moving.
The
Night the World Refused to End by Bastet
There should be more Paris stories.
There should be more like this one at least. A gorgeous re-telling of the
Paris breakdown that is so very Paris.
Irrevocable
Night by Laura Smith
Luke and Lorelai and a moment. Sigh.
Gorgeous and painful
The King of Practical
Wisdom by Anna S.
Hooray for truly loveable Gilmore
Girls fic! This is a Luke expose, and it makes you love him even more.
And it's an ending that is credible and so right. Excellent insights.
The
Day you Come by CGB
In a fandom almost completely devoid
of talent, this little vingette is a pearl. It's Lorelai and Luke
done perfectly, proving that less can be more.
Afterall
by Gaityr
Not so long ago, I asked the question,
"is there any good Gilmore Girls fanfic out there" and i was lead to Gaityr.
This fic captures the characters as we know and love them and still manages
to convey the problematics of the Luke/Lorelai relationship.
Hot
Cross Buns by Mala
This is gorgeous writing and wonderfully
true to the show and the characters. The writing is a delight to read,
and who can resist Luke and Lorelia when they're written with such complexity.
Be sure to email Mala and beg her for more.
Reality
Check by Nestra
Oh, this is just lovely. Can I have
a Luke of my own? Can I? Pretty please?
Frozen
by Megan Reilly
New Year's Eve. Stars Hollow. Luke makes
an effort, but things don't really change. Subtle, bittersweet and in character.
